Terms of Service

Effective date: February 1, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of VoteShip ("the Service"), a feature request management platform operated at voteship.app. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

VoteShip is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that helps teams collect, organize, and prioritize feature requests from their users. The Service includes public-facing feedback boards, voting mechanisms, AI-powered categorization and insights, roadmap management, and related tools.

2. Accounts

Registration

To use most features of VoteShip, you must create an account. You can register using an email address and password, or through Google OAuth. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep your account information up to date.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password or API keys with others. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you become aware of any unauthorized use, notify us immediately at hello@voteship.app.

One Account Per Person

Each individual may maintain only one VoteShip account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limitations, abuse free tiers, or manipulate votes is prohibited and may result in account termination.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use VoteShip to:

  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • Submit or distribute spam, malware, or other harmful content
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or VoteShip staff
  • Artificially manipulate votes, feedback, or engagement metrics (e.g., using bots or fake accounts)
  • Upload illegal, defamatory, or infringing content
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to VoteShip systems, infrastructure, or other users' accounts
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service beyond what is permitted by the API
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our written permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice.

4. Billing and Payments

Subscription Plans

VoteShip offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) and are processed through Stripe. Prices are displayed on our pricing page and may change with reasonable notice.

Auto-Renewal

Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged the applicable subscription fee at the start of each new billing period.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period.

Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we may retry the charge and/or restrict access to paid features until the payment issue is resolved. We will notify you by email of any payment failures.

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you submit to VoteShip, including feature requests, comments, images, and other materials ("Your Content"). By submitting content, you grant VoteShip a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, store, and process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account.

Our Platform

VoteShip and its original content (excluding user content), features, functionality, branding, and design are owned by VoteShip and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service without our prior written consent.

6. API Usage

VoteShip may provide API access for programmatic interaction with the Service. If you use the API:

  • API keys are confidential and must not be shared publicly or embedded in client-side code
  • Rate limits apply and vary by plan. Exceeding rate limits may result in throttling or temporary suspension of API access
  • You must not use the API in a way that degrades the Service for other users
  • We may modify or discontinue API features with reasonable notice

7. AI Features

VoteShip uses AI-powered features (via the Anthropic Claude API and Voyage AI) to categorize feedback, generate insights, detect duplicates, and assist with other functionality. By using the Service, you acknowledge that content submitted to VoteShip may be processed by these AI services to provide these features. AI outputs are provided for informational purposes and should not be treated as definitive or authoritative.

8. Termination

By You

You may close your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in your settings. If you have an active paid subscription, please cancel it before deleting your account.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive or illegal behavior, or if we determine that your use of the Service poses a risk to the Service or other users. We will provide notice where reasonably possible.

After Termination

Upon account termination, your data will remain available for export for 30 days. After this period, we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., intellectual property, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, VoteShip disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VoteShip and its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VoteShip and its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through binding arbitration.
